The Charleston Men’s Chorus is preparing for our upcoming season, and we would greatly appreciate your help in spreading the word about our Open Auditions on Monday, August 31.
For more than three decades, the Charleston Men’s Chorus has brought together men from across the Lowcountry to perform classical, sacred, and contemporary choral music. We welcome men 18 and older who enjoy singing and are interested in becoming part of a welcoming, artistically driven ensemble.
We have attached an audition flyer and would be grateful if you would share it with your members, employees, students, congregation, community, or anyone you think may be interested. Whether that means forwarding this email, including the flyer in a newsletter, posting it on a bulletin board, or sharing it on social media, every share helps us reach potential new singers.

Advance registration is required to reserve an audition time, and no prepared piece is required. Registration information and a QR code are included on the attached flyer. Registration Information can also be found here.
Want to take part?
Applicants should prepare a song or hymn to perform a cappella or with accompaniment. The audition will also include: Vocal exercises Listening exercises involving melodic patterns and chords Sight-singing exercises based on the applicant’s experience Choral experience and music-reading ability are preferred, but singers with limited sight-reading experience are still encouraged to audition. The audition allows our Artistic Director to learn more about each singer’s voice, range, musical ear, and experience.
